I just accidentally found out about these programs. The company got bought up by google and it's all free to download now. Has anyone tried them yet?

silver efex pro and color efex pro are the real winners.

nothing one can't do with PS but much simpler to try different looks and to retreat from.

I find Viveza pretty useful too, but probably because I'm not very good with photoshop.

Nik has the advantage that you do not need Photoshop to use them - they work fine as stand-alone programs and also work with the much cheaper Photoshop Elements.

I have it installed and use it as a plug-in with LR. Mainly installed it for Silver Efex, but also use the HDR Efex. The rest I just don't get to very often.

So far I've only used Silver Effects Pro but I think it's great!
