Hi,

I am about to buy a Nikon D70, and am totaly new to the digital world (and resisting!)...
What is the difference of the batteries (li-ion, or other) and which one is best?
Also, what about memory cards... which ones are best for the buck?
any help is greatly appreciate it.

:D

The D70 comes with a rechargeable Lithium ion battery and charger.
It once lasted me three days with fairly heavy usage without a recharge.
There's been some good deals lately on the Lexar cards and some other brands that should be OK are: Sandisk, Kingston and PNY.
HTH.

yes the D70 comes with a lithium ion battery, you also can use a disposable cr2 with the included battery holder. the D70 is very frugal with battery power. you can take a LOT of pictures with a single charge. the manual claims between 400 and a thousand shots per charge. also it is a very easy to use camera, very fast in operation. it is always ready to go, shutter lag is nearly zero. enjoy, dean
