Nikon Flash with D70. Advice Please.

Hi all, I recently bought a good 2nd hand Nikon SB26 speedlight, to use on my F5 and D70.
When tried on the D70, I dont get shutter release in TTL mode, I have to set it manualy, with distance, aperture etc and then its fine.
Can anyone give me a few pointers on use as I am new to flash photography.
I am photographing a wedding soon, with lots of indoor pics, and I dont want to struggle with the flash then !

Basically, that flash isn't compatible with the camera for the auto TTL features, it only works in manual mode. See the chart:

You want an SB-600 or SB-800 to get full compatibility, or just stick with it in manual mode.

I think Nikon has done a pretty good job with backward compatability, better then most. The new flashes are compatable with the older bodies, but the older flashes dont work so great with the newer digital bodies. If you get a D2h or D2x then this isnt such a problem, but the D70 is limited to the SB600 and SB800. Both of which are most likely better then earlier flashes. Im sure someone will argure with that.
