Took this shot of this female Ruby throated hummingbird, late in the summer. I wish they were still around, they are fun to photograph, or should I say try to photograph.

Very nice. Simplest of compositions, and hence highly effective. Photo of a BIRD and only a bird. Nothing that distracts from "her" (if I understand you right). Really nice.

Very nice shot!! And, boy-howdy do I understand the "try to" part! - I've got hundreds of hummingbird shots, and 90% don't even have a bird in the shot!! and 90% of what's left are blurred birds

Agreed. If I get one out of fifty that is even worth considering, i'm happy. But when you get one, it is that much more rewarding.
