Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
This is a tiny point but it's been bugging me ever since I joined this site.

Why is it necessary to have the "My Photos Are NOT OK to Edit" text in red and have the word 'not' in capitals?

Capitals are internet shorthand for shouting and it makes the person under whose name the text appears seem unnecessarily aggresive. You look to see who's made a post without the slightest intention of editing a photo and you get snapped at. :)

Maybe I'm the only person who even notices this so flame away.

its also the same for hte green one too - "My Photos Are OK to Edit"
its just way of making the letters large and shouty enough to notice - and it seems to be working as you have noticed them ;) If they were small and mousy letters people might not notice them.

Also shouting on the internet is only really in posts LIKE THIS - outside of posts its just emphasising something

I'm not objecting to them being coloured. Just to the 'NOT' being capitalised.

I suppose whether or not you read it as shouting is a personal thing. To me it seems that way and makes the poster appear a little petulant (which is most unfair as they didn't chose the text).

I really don't think having 'not' in uppercase makes the text much more noticable - it stands out quite well in red and green.

So does it make YOU seem petulant for having the word OK in caps? It is there merely to draw extra attention to the fact that the photos are not okay to edit. I'm amazed at the nit picky things people find to complain about these days.

Capitalization is meant for emphasis. The internet may have added another message behind capitalization, but not everyone follows "internet rules." Some of us are still in touch with the nuances of text in regards to the outside world.

The only thing that bothers me is the capitalization of every word (with the exception of "to") as if it were a title of a writing, rather than a statement. But thats just the grammar-nazi in me coming out

As a multi-media specialist, my reply is very basic:

PRINT DOES NOT SHOUT.

No, because it's the standard way to write 'OK'.

Love the fact that you bother to post complaining that people complain too much.
