Polarizing filters pl / pl-c

I am looking to buy a polarizing filter (on ebay) but there seem to be 2 differnt types. Whats the differnce between PL and PL-C filters?

I need an circular polarizer then because i use an autofocus? Does that mean then that PL ones are linear and PL-C ones are circular?

yeah, that's what I would assume that means. I have a digi cam with auto focus with a circ pol and I tried it out yesterday and it helped out with getting some nice blue skies

I have tried a linear pol on an auto focus and sometimes they work. You just stand a chance of the linear lines interfering with the AF.

If you really want to go cheaper you can use a linear and if it interfers just manually focus. You can use either polarizer on AF or manual focus a polarizer is a polarizer they just make two different kinds because of AF cameras.
