portrait

Do you have anymore pics from the shoot?

yes, but most were not worth anything... at least not for what i need it for. i put about 1/2 hour into it, and then i got too tired!

i am starting to feel a bit better and i will try again this weekend.

Some info. on portraiture that you should be aware of:

In posing, the general rule is that if a female is to have a slight head tilt it should be toward the higher raised shoulder at the front. The opposite is considered a masculine pose.

Skin blemishes are a visual distraction. Portrait specialists use make-up and postprocessing to make them less noticeable. Skin should also never be so sharp that you can see small bumps, minor discolouration and other problems. In post, it is possible to soften the skin while still keeping it looking natural.

As mentioned, lighting needs to be improved around the eyes. Portrait lights could have also been used to help the rendition of the skin and draw more attention to the eyes. Some light and detail on the hair at the left would also improve the portrait overall. Portrait specialists also need to be in total control of any shadows on the face or be ready to fix problems in postprocessing.

So, if I saw such a portrait on a web site, I would say to myself. Yes, there is some talent but more knowledge and experience in portraiture is necessary before I would consider her services for a portrait session.

Direct as always, but that is the only way for learning to take place.

I think it's a great self portrait...I tried my hand at photoshop since I'm still trying to learn. I will take it down if you want...
