Practicing Portraiture

I was practicing some "portraiture" shots on cats...

#2 is great. Her expression is beautiful. She looks so soft

The last one is good, but the poor cat looks bored to death.

I'm not a fan of the one with the striped cat. He looks crazy.

These are GOOD!
I like cats a bit more when their pupils are wider open, so I must like the first two and think that the red background really works well with the grey cat.
I'm not sure about the angle in the last, it looks a tad too wide and her face a little distorted. Or am I not looking right? (Would not surprise me, not today).
