Problem with RAW

Hey
just tried shooting in RAW but whenever i try to open the cr2 file with ps it comes out looking like noise. Is it my ps?

Photoshop cannot open RAW files.

Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) can if you have the release level that supports your camera.

In addition the version of Photoshop you have also has a bearing on which cameras are supported.

Since you shoot with a Canon Xs you need at least Camera Raw 4.6, CS3, Elements 5.0, or newer.
