So what's the crop factor here? Similar to the one in the photo of the cowbird?
You have some brilliantly coloured birds in your country!

Especially with bird shots I normally crop by eye. It's not unusual for me to only use half of the frame because of the distance.

This one is cropped awfully close to 3/2 but to my eye the extra little bit on the top and bottom makes a difference.

Love this Photo! lighting is perfect. I don't think original photographer needs any cropping at all here.
