    Hey All,
I need a web application that will allow me to show and sell photographs online.

I'm doing a school formal and the parents want to see the photos online and order them that way, rather than them coming in to the school to view proofs.

Does anyone know/use something like that?

    Thanks,
    Vicky

Smugmug would be the fastest way. Easy set up, password protected areas, online ordering, and you can set the prices with some account types.

You might want something specific to your locale, though, since I'm not sure what "Bris-Vegas" is?

Photocart. It's an aplication that you load onto your own web site and controls the whole process of displaying and ordering images & products. It's extremely customizable.

i just signed up for instaproofs. i researched the different options for a few months before i chose one. i went with instaproofs because there is no sign up or monthly fee, no gallery maximums or fees, no additional fees for credit card processing and a simple flat 15% off of sales (not shipping and tax)

i also like that i can send to my own lab, i can offer rebates and deals to my clients and the interface is easy to use. i have not linked it to my site yet, but you can check it out at jennifersmutek.instaproofs.com if you want to see what the customer sees.

Wow! Thanks for the list! That's just what I was after.

SpeedTrap, I tried to look at your site, but all the galleries are locked, and I'd love to see what the galleries look like.... but I found a demo one on the photocart website.

It looks good but I have a couple of questions.
Is there an option to add taxes? Most businesses in Australia need to add 10% goods and services tax.

Also, are they able to just enter their credit card details and I process them manually once it's sent to me?

    Yes.

There are several payment options. For you to process credit card orders, you would need to set up your own merchant services. You could use Paypal as well, which will let people use credit cards.
