Question about 2 flaws in photos

As you can see in these two photos there is a flaw in each of them, in the first photo in the top left in the sky you can see like a blur, in the second photo there is a bright green spot. Can anybody tell what they think caused this and is there a way to fix it? Thank you in advance for your help.

I think it's the sun. But there are people on here much more experienced than me.

Yeh looks like lens flare on the first shot, where the sun has reflected the light inside the lens!

A lens hood can combat this.

As for the second one????? X-Files anyone?

Actually no, I had taken it off. So if I had the hood on this might not have happened?

Voila, about three seconds with the patch tool in PS. It's definetely lens flare, it occurs a lot if your shooting directly in the sun, or your getting direct sunlight hitting your front lens element.

Edit: I just realized there was more flares in the bottom right and on the sign, I just missed them. You get the idea though.
