Thanks! First UW shoot in about 25 years or so.... but I just put it in AUTO (isn't that what everyone does?) lol!

You don't have that option for controlling ,Buoyancy ,current ,your breathing ,back scatter, Body language (Fish can read you) or Bottom time. Just the fact you have a Puffer at it's normal size and looking at you (Not running in the opposite direction )says to me you have done this many times ! Again Thanks for sharing ,It's almost like a free dive ! lol As in no cost to me .....

I like puffers... and I hate it when someone stresses them! I am pretty good at getting close to critters... I move slowly! ;) I suspect I would enjoy having you as a buddy... sounds like we think alike somewhat!

This is totally awesome. I didn't know about the Nikonos... I also can't do the 7k for my D800. I'm definitely going to look into this. Thanks for the thread Charlie!

The Nikonos series are awesome... if you want to shoot film. You can get a Nikonos V or even an RS series pretty cheap... and they are really nice bodies. The Ikelite strobes work really well with them, and good strobes (lots of other choices too). Since I used to shoot mostly Ektachrome, and E6 is now more or less dead, I decided to go digital. I am currently looking at maybe getting a Canon G15 system... should be able to get a strobe, housing, body, etc... for well under 2k. Has some advantages over the system I am currently shooting... and I really don't want to take my lovely D800 underwater either! lol!

If you have any questions.. I will help if I can. But you can check out a lot of toys here to start with... Optical Ocean Sales, Seattle's Underwater Camera and Photography Store or here http://www.bluewaterphotostore.com/

and don't look at this... or you will be wanting it: D800 examples http://www.bluewaterphotostore.com/d800-underwater-photos-video lol!
