St. Louis Cathedral — the oldest continuously active cathedral in the United States — formed the center of the original settlement and dominates Jackson Square. Originally built in 1724 it had to be rebuilt twice — after a fire and then following a hurricane.

I love the first shot. My wife and I vacationed in New Orleans about this time last year and had a blast. What a great place for a photographer. We took in a mass at the Cathedral.

Wow.

I really like the first of these two photos.
And the more I think about it, the more it strikes me that I might even have a (very bad) photo of this cathedral myself somewhere, but I sure took it without knowing what I was photographing at the time... :roll:
