Let me start out by saying that I have tried to search the threads for the answer before posting this.

My oldest sons' 23rd birthday is coming up next month (Geez I feel old right now). He has recently bought a crotch rocket motorcycle. We haven't had a photo shoot with it yet, but my idea is to have the best one enlarged to maybe a 20"x30" on canvas in a wood frame and gallery wrapped. Of course, have some of the better ones in 4x6 print format to supplement.

I suppose the first question is if you think the bike would do well on canvas. Show enough detail, but still have that "fine art" feel to the finished product.

Secondly, can anybody give first hand reviews of the results they have had with whichever provider they have used? Price is a secondary consideration.

Possible services I have found to date from this site are:
    Mpix.com http://www.mpix.com/
    Photofiddle.com http://photofiddle.com/index.php?act=log
    CanvasRus.com http://www.canvasrus.com/
    Whcc.com http://whcc.com/

If more suggestions are put forward, I will certainly give a look. But, I want peoples opinions of the quality of work.

    I gratefully appreciate your responses.

  2. I had great luck with printing on canvas, I've done it several times. I used a very expensive pro lab in LA (where I was living at the time) called ImageXperts. They were great. For instance, they suggested printing a small crop of the image on a smaller piece as a color-check before printing the whole thing - which they did free of charge.

I would be uncomfortable working with an online service, but I don't know where the first chakra is, so I can't recommend a service there ;)

    Here is one I printed...

    ...and here another.

As far as on canvas I have never had that done so I cannot attest to that specifically. But I can say that I have had alot of luck with printing from Mpix so I think their quality is very good. As far as your subject I think anything can look good on canvas as long as it is shot properly.

I use "Canvas on demand" and am well pleased. Good service, great quality and fast turnaround. Can't ask for much more.
