Self-portrait

I plan to send to some of my friends an enlarged version of the following photo. I know it does not look like a professional portrait. Do you see anything wrong or any potential for improvement? Thanks in advance!

It looks oversharpened to me...I think composition wise it may have worked better with you more toward the right side of the shot rather than the middle. The background seems a little overexposed to me as well. You might try darkening the ground a bit so it's not as overpowering.

IMO there's too much background although it does contrast well with your shirt and skin tone. Also it would be better to either have all of you in the shot or just from the waist up. It doesn't look right to have your feet cut off in the picture.

I'd shoot it from a lower angle at a time where the light is not directly above you.
