I got a new sigma 60mm F2.8 DN for my NEX-7 and was surprised when trying to focus and it was taking so much longer than my other sony lenses. It seems to do more searching for the focus too. The other lenses would nail it on the first try. I guess I figured that the AF speed would have more to do with the camera and less to do with the lens. I like the lens otherwise but I'm contemplating getting the sony 50mm instead. It was $60 more but if it's going to focus faster then I think I'd pay more. What do you guys think?

If mine wuz a slow dog, I'd have already sent it back

Is the AF on sony's in the lens (like Canon EOSes) or body (like some Nikons). I use the former, and the lens tech makes a lot of difference. Ive got a nice 90s USM lens that has far faster AF than the more modern equivilent, with a regular motor, for example.
