Northern CA? My family used to live in Grass Valley, but moved to South Carolina last year - they didn't get much snow in CA but they did get some because they were rather north, and at a higher altitude. Number 1's my fav. The sky sets the phot off quite well, though the other 2 may do a better job at showing off CA's less know seasons. Looks like you've got yourself a pretty scenic ride to work .
a little fanfare: and fire a few rounds off in the air
I like your first shot too!
What part of cali is this in, even looks quite isolated, which goes against the stereotype that all of the california looks like LA (thats what most folks think here anyway). I like the lighting on the mountains in the second one too, a little bit of contrast should bring that out and the cloud depth too.
It's Tehachapi which is only about 140 miles North of LA making this practically Southern California or at least South Central.
The reason for the snow is that the elevation is right at 4,000 feet.
