Ya know...I think I could use some good vibes from y'all...just good vibes in general.

:goodvibe: :goodvibe: :goodvibe: :goodvibe: :goodvibe: :goodvibe:

cars suck

Then again so do bills. I've just decided not to pay mine anymore ;)

Corry, hang in there. I know things are stressful, but try to look at the bright side....there are whole lot of things that could be worse....thank God it's just your car's health that is failing....

That's very true...the health problems I have are minor, and I can live with them...However I did just find out that someone very close to me is not in good health and may have Luekemia (just found this out a few minutes ago :( ) I guess the saying is true: When it rains, it pours!"

Thanks for all the good wishes everyone. You guys really mean a lot to me, and it sure does make me feel better. And I'm sorry I'm dumping all my problems on y'all, but so many stressful things came down at once, that it was just incredibly overwhelming. I'm starting to feel a bit better at the moment, and my mind is getting a bit more clear, so I am able to start working things out a bit better.

Have a great day everyone! :)

I know its but a small comfort, but for informational purposes leukemia is very survivable.

I hope so...but it's my gramma, and she's almost 80. They aren't sure yet though. Her family doctor thinks that it's what it could be...she's going to an encologist (however you spell it) tommorrow, so I think it will be a week or more before we find out. I never thought about it before, but I have never really heard of luekemia in older people. I always hear about it in kids and younger adults...wonder why that is.

Oh...does anyone know a website or something that you can compare car prices? I mean like...from different dealerships? It's been a looooong time since I've looked for cars.

I'm going Friday to this place in town to see if I can get approved for a thing going on at the Hyundai place near here. It's 0 down, and $150 a month...and there's a great warranty package on it, too. It's for a Hyundai Accent. Not what I would have chosen, but I don't have the money to be picky. Like my bro always used to say "Beggars can't be choosers"

But seriously it sounds like you're having a really crap time. Just take it easy, one step at a time and you'll get through it all.

Edit: I deleted some comments I made - because you posted just before me and they seemed insensitive right after you. sorry bout that.

Bless her heart.

She may have leukemia, or maybe not, so let the oncologist do the appropriate testing. Her family doc probably sees a very low white cell count and wants to be sure it's not from something underlying that's more serious. She may feel fatigued and all the other classic symptoms of disease, which can be brought about by low cell counts.

Sounds like they're on it, and she's getting proper care by seeing the specialist. :hugs: Try not to worry till you know more. There's lots of treatment protocol, and it may even be something like taking some iron tablets, too! It's something you don't fool with in the elderly, though.

Why not call her tonight and let her know you're thinking of her? I'll bet she'd love that. :)

Corry:

Cars: Try www.cars.com which should give you pricing.

Gramma: Good luck. It's spelled oncologists. And you have the same impression that most people have, that leukemia is a young person disease. AML (acute myeloid leukemia) is the particular flavor that is most common in elderly patients, with the median age of all patients at 65y/o.

Even better is what Terri noted. Elderly have a lot of stuff going on, and there are several things that the same symptoms point to.

www.autotrader.com

That is how we found our latest addition/replacement ;)

I knew about autotrader.com...it's the only place I knew about though. 5 years ago before I got the car I have, I lived on autotrader.com.

So your old car is being sent out to pasture then?

A ball joint should be easily fixable but typically if your ball joints are breaking like that, you will also need a lot of other work and the car can quickly become a money pit.

The old car has been in the shop 5 times in the past month...it's begginning to nickel and dime me to death, at a time I don't have a spare nickel and dime to rub together. This was just the most major problem. I know the ball joint is fixable, but I also need a new axle.
