Sony camcorder... help!

I've been using my Sony digital 8 camcorder and I have some problems... maybe someone uses it too? I have fire wire IE1394 and all things I need but when I plug my camera to my pc, the computer does not react. the camera is invisible to it... have no clue why... please help... I've been searching google for about a week without any results

at first (if I were you) I would try to connect it to another pc and see if it works. then explain what capturing software you use (or do you just see it as drive dunno). probably it's some kind of software conflict (firewire controller & windows). btw. what camera is it (exactly).

well it works under win xp pro sp2, with same cable and so on, but on the another pc... no clue why... it is sony digital 8, dcr-tr7100e.

my pc doesn't see it...
