I've heard people claim that it's not about the gear.

However, gear is fun.

The Rebel is a lot smaller and lighter than my D700 so I guess it proves the old saying that it's not the size that counts, it's what you do with it...

It will be on next year, probably even bigger and better. Last weekend in August.

I think the parade this year was the first, hopefully it won't be the last unless the city drags its feet again about closing the road for half an hour. Us locals love it.

It's every August Bank Holiday weekend (our equivalent of labor day but usually a week earlier). It runs from Friday to Monday and is cram packed with stuff like parasol dueling and other foolishness. Most of it is only open to ticket holders but enough happens in public to bring in droves of tourists and other gawkers. Steampunks attend from all over the world.
