Strobe Flash Advice.

I want to 'play around' with some of the functionality of my camera & flash and I would love to take a shot using a strobe flash.

My idea is to tempt my cat into jumping from one spot to another and then use a strobe on a long exposure.

Any tips or pointers in setup, both composition and technical would be appreciated.

The terms 'strobe' & 'flash' are pretty much interchangeable.

It sounds like what you are tying to do, is 'stop motion' with flash...or do you want multiple images of the cat as it jumps?
