Hey, I'm a chick and I love cars! That ones up there on my list...though my fav would have to be a '69 Corvette Stingray.

HDR seems to only work in the right situation. Car photography probably wouldn't be it...though a polarizer would have done wonders in your situation for the reflections and glare. I've experimented with HDR quite a bit and this is the best result I could get of one of my cars:

As the founder of a local Mustang club, let me say that that is one FINE ride.

Now, onto the photo. I try to never take photos of cars from the shady side. I know you were limited here though. I really like Bifurcator's edit, albeit a little overdone for my personal tastes.
