i am a COMPLETE beginner to photography and might be taking a course, and the course outline mentions that we require a 35mm adjustable camera.
does that mean any 35mm camera, or does "adjustable" refer to an actual type of 35mm camera??

Adjustable generally means that you can change the f-stop and shutter speeds. Also might be helpful to have manual focus and adjustable ISO settings.

wow never heard a manual camera called an adjustable camera before..sounds kinda funny but it still makes sence.

Yep, they call them adjustable cameras at my college as well.

In fact, the professor is very anal about it and gets upset when we call them 'manual'

adjustable :) hah when translating it to my tongue it sounds funny :p

I've never heard it refered to as "adjustable" either. In these parts we ask students to have a camera capable of manual exposure control. I assume it means a camera where the photog can adjust the shutter and aperture.
