Sunset sun-spots

I hope this qualifies more as a technical error more than a Photoshop challenge. Either I was pointing my camera directly towards the sun and got a sun flare, or just had a smudge on my lens. Is there any way to get rid of this (either by cropping or photoshop) without ruining my photo completely? (Anyone can try, I'm not the best in Photoshop).

Yeah, Photoshop clone tool. It might also help to make it more of a sihlouette (sp?) in order to make the cloning easier.

I think this is a classic for the Photoshop Challenges, much rather than The Critique Forum.
Since what you really want, Emma, is find someone to show you possible edits to get rid of the flare, right?
That's what this sub-forum (much overlooked by many!) is for.

I did this using the healing brush in the sky to remove the sun spots and clone stamp to fix the land areas
