As far as taxes and refunds go - I try to break even. I don't want to owe takes, but I don't want a big refund either. A tax refund is not free money, it is a REFUND. They are giving back money that you already give them.

If you get $5000 back, that means that every single paycheck you got for the entire year should have been $100 more (assuming you get paid weekly). You paid $5000 too much in taxes out of your paychecks.

We (I use the term loosely)spent it.. recklessly...

US (democracy) and USSR (communism) spent years in competition claiming their system is superior. USSR falls and US prevails only to be indebted to China... another communist state. Isn't that ironic?
