I came upon the Vaillancourt Fountain in San Fracisco, CA, one day and the water had all been emptied out. Most of the shots that I see of the fountain get the overall shape from the outside. I took this as an opportunity to climb into the fountain to get a unique vantage point of this twisted mess of a concrete landmark.

You can read more about it on my blog @ http://anvilimage.com/2010/07/01/entering-the-concrete-jungle/

Thanks! Walking around inside really brought the texture to my attention. I had debated whether or not to remove the graffiti tag on the right, but after reading a little about the history of the fountain, I decided that it was totally appropriate... Thanks again!

HDR, right? There is some slight haloing around the concrete and buildings.

It just blows my mind how that really is 3 images. The texture is amazing. Does the fact that it is 3 images combined make the texture that sharp?

Nope... in fact, most HDR's tend not to be too sharp coming right out of processing and require other processing/cleanup as well.
