what of the 3 do y'all think looks the best?
I like the contrast of shades in the first one much better than the others. The range of darks to lights stands out most in that one.
I also like the color and contrast of #1.
How long was this exposure for and where are you located? I ask about the location because the nearer to the equator you are, the faster the sky moves overhead. The first one is definitely the best but next time, I would try to capture shorter trails and maybe even the top of a tree so you can really tell it's the sky.

The first is the winner for me... I like the color balance and the contrast. My favorite of the three

I mean just #1 by its self
a good photo? well, in my opinion not really. But that is just because I don't find it that interesting. As others have said if you had some foreground it might look a bit more interesting.
Yeah you really need something still to anchor the shot.
