I used to have a Macro lens for my old Kodak Z650 P&S camera. After I bought my Nikon D40, I had little use for it. Upon looking at the Macro lens once more, I saw it was a 52mm tread, so I decided to see if it would fit on my 18mm-55mm Nikkor DX lens. And guess what? It did! Nice that I didn't have to waste the $40 I spent on it.

so it's like one of those little single or dual element macro filter type things?

I like the eye a lot! Could be neat if you could photoshop yourself out, though.
