    hi,

My digital camera has an ultra zoom of 10X. The widest angle is 48mm in equivalent standards with a 35mm camera.

I have seen a wide angle lens which attaches to my digital camera and has a rating of 0.38X.

What would be the widest angle I could achieve using this lens on my camera?

    thanks

.38 times the minimum focal length of the zoom.

    thanks!

Would you loose any quality attaching one of these lenses to my camera?

    thanks again.

i would imagine that attaching any kind of adaptor or filter would affect the quality, or at the very least, the settings you can select.
the adaptor may change the maximum or minimum aperture you can select.
it may alter the shutter speed.
sometimes that can work to your advantage...other times it's a disadvantage.

I've never used an adaptor on a compact so i'm not really sure what you would get if you used one.
