    Beautiful! Wood ducks are so colourful, it's amazing. I especially like the first and last shots. Nicely done

    thanks for the kind words... these are my favorite of all the ducks we have here, and i was fortunate enough to catch this one on a sunny winter day when the sun, even at noon, was only about 30 degrees above the horizon, so it gave the same nice, low-angle light as you'd find at 8 AM inthe summer...

    I had to draw one of these for a duck stamp competition in sixth grade. My drawing was horrible unlike your photos. I love the detailed captured in all three, although the second is my favorite.

    Canon 40D and 100-400L lens at 400mm, 1/1000 @ f/6.3, ISO 400...
