Would it be wrong of me to...

Here is a simple test for the question you pose.

1. Is it your land? Yes No
2. If it is not your land do you have the landowners permission to do what you are asking. Yes No.

If you answered No to both of those questions the answer to your question is pretty obvious. :banghead:

Unless of course the potential for jail time is something you relish.

Get a ladder. From the vantage point you are showing, it looks like a folding stepladder would be enough to elevate you over these swells, if your main intent is to get a WA view of the decaying building. Either place it right on the ground or on the bed of a truck, if you can drive that close in.

I agree with LaFoto, too, if you also want to show litter, trash, etc over the abandoned property, wait till the snow melts. Right now, in this image, it just doesn't look that bad.

I doubt anyone would invest time and money into bulldozing the acreage until the land has a new purpose, has been rezoned, etc.
Are you serious? If so to bulldoze that area would be somewhat expensive or time consuming, why wouldn't you just build a platform to shoot from that gets you above the forground, it would be much easier, cost less, and not be such a ridiculous idea.

You make a valid point with the expense of both time and money, however just throwing together a rig or platform to shoot from would completely defeat the point I want to make. I want to draw as much attention to it as possible. A bulldozer or two is going to get people talking, but a guy on a rickety little platform out in the wasteland with a camera won't do a thing, it's not even worth a call to the police.

Talk city into leveling that structure, planting some trees and turn it into a park.

You will have the building out of your way, and community gets a place where families can hang out.

That's not going to happen, that building holds the greatest historical value to this city, They would rather (and currently are) kick people out of their homes and level an apartment complex for just that purpose. (I have pictures of said apartment complex)

Furthermore the City has no authority over the place, It's under the authority of the Seneca Nation. On top of that having freight trains running threw the middle of a city park is just a accident waiting to happen.

Looks like a Great place for a bar/restaurant/game room type of place.

Why don't you just buy it and put it to work?

My meager salary can't get me a home loan let alone a loan for something of that caliber, Out of the question. If I could afford it, would have done it alredy.

It's best use would be it's previous use, and that is that of a passenger depot. If the SNI used some of the revenue from the casino to recommision this building and her rails for passenger use it would be a valuable asset as tourist attraction. Scenic train rides bring in more revenue than a lot of people realize. Those rails and rail stations built this city and it stands the reason that they can rebuild it and the Seneca nation could benefit from it, they just don't realize it.

As it stands now this city is a dump, the patrons of the casino come into town have their fun at the casino and then go home.....there Is just nothing else to do, no reason whatso ever to to stay any longer, not to mention a good portion of casino patrons literally have to drive from one end of the city to the other to get there.

No one owns land here, but I have a solid string I can tug at within the SNI Tribal Leaders so acquiring permission is not that far fetched.

I spent a great deal of time trying to see all that is attractive about this city and have come to the conclusion that it is a futile endeavor. With only two places of interest I have decided to photograph the weakness of this aria and hope to bring enough attention to things to get them to make things change.

In short the question is this, Is asking for the field between me and that rail station to be leveled too underhanded a tactic to further that goal?
