I don't think this was the case for Voodoo, but sometimes windows break when the defrost wires embedded in them become severed or break. Usually happens to the rear window. It sounds like a boom and then the glass comes tumbling into the back of the car.

Well, it's good that you are ok voodo. It probably happened how malachite said. I've had something similar happen but not to my car. It was a glass cup that shattered out of nowhere.

I believe there was already a small fracture but the glass "exploded" when I started washing it with hot water.
