Leopard collection - A favorite big cat :)

Im used to seeing lions and cheetahs on a daily basis on safari. Over the years I've probably encountered at least 40 leopards and got to know them so well that the park rangers gave me the honor to name one a few years back. My record was spotting three in one day but that was extremally lucky...

    Hitching a Ride (Buffalo)

This chap was quite happy to offer a ride in exchange for some free tick removal by the ox pickers. They do however also up wounds which isnt such a good thing. I got a few shots with the birds in flight as well, could have done with a brighter day had to push the iso. D850 200 to 400 f4 380mm...

    Giraffe kiss - portrait

Going through my old giraffe safari files and came across this one with a mum and daughter. Quite happy with the angle and lighting which is often an issue with giraffe portraits. D810 200 to 400 f4 400mm 1/800 f5.6 iso 100 oct 2014 photo saf

    Golden light - injured elephant

I noticed a lot of commotion within the group. Fights kept on braking out started by one elephant. You will notice it trunk is damaged, it actually leaks quite a bit and must be causing major pain which likely translated into more aggressive behavior hence the fights. D850 200 to 400 f4 240mm...

Still Going - Two Male Lions

A couple of old male lions just walking up. I would have liked to come across them a few hours later when I could have closed down and lowered the iso as well but in the wild you dont have too much choice, just make the best of it. D850 200 to 400 f4 200mm f4 1/400 iso 4000

    Favorite lion shot :-)

Although not as 'cute' as some of my other lion cub images certainly the most interesting for me especially in the way its body is contorted. D850 200-400 f4 200mm 1/500 iso 640 f4 7 meters

I took quite a few shots of this lioness coming through the grass. Initially, I just glanced and didnt even rate the imported files. Topi on Mound

Topi (Coke Hartebeest) are often thought of as the Guardians of the herd. They are normally the ones to warn the buffalo, zebra and wildebeest of predators. They also tend to be quite brave and take a stance on old ant hills to get a better view of the area. D850 200-400 f4 400mm f5 1/5000 iso 400
