27" Apple LED Cinema Display ...

From Apples site: Apple - LED Cinema Display
Apple LED Cinema Display (27" flat panel) - Apple Store (U.S.)

Works with every new Mac.

You can connect your LED Cinema Display to any of the current lineup of Mac notebooks and desktop computers: MacBook, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iMac, Mac mini, and Mac Pro. That’s because the LED Cinema Display uses the ultracompact Mini DisplayPort connector. While other display connectors have you lining up pins or fumbling with screws, the Mini DisplayPort connector is easy in, easy out. And because it carries both video and audio, there’s one less cable to worry about.

MagSafe connector.

The LED Cinema Display includes a MagSafe connector that powers and charges your MacBook, MacBook Pro, or MacBook Air. The connector sits on your desk, ready and waiting. No need to unwind the cord to the power adapter that came with your notebook. Leave it exactly where it is, in your bag.

I have a 27" iMac and love it. I hook my 17"MBP up to it when I need a large display to work with. Works flawlessly for me.

Apple displays have a superb build quality and design package, and great display display quality to boot. However, being some of the best means paying some of the top prices.

If you've got the dough, sure. Not a particularly good value though.

Apple is not the best and in fact uses components that other cheaper brands do.

You might want to take a look at the DELL U2711 screen. Getting good reviews and cheaper than the cinema display (well, here atleast..)

I didn't necessarily state they were THE best, but in my experience, they've rarely ever let me down, and have always served their purpose wonderfully. I'd say those are a few "best" qualities...

In fact, the older HP that I had calibrated better than the 30" ACD.

To each his own, I suppose.
