3 Legged Thing tripods

With the new year and all of these resolutions i figured i would use this as an excuse to do some much needed upgrades. With that being said im in the market for a new tripod, so many choices... i have almost pulled the trigger on a 3Lt x1.1 brian tripod/monopod. Has anyone here had any dealings with any of their tripods, and would you recommend them? i haven't decided to go CF or not but i think for price and that fact ill have it for quite some time i should go big or go home! haha right now I shoot with a D90 with the heaviest lenses being the 24-70 and a 300 2.8, plan on a 70-200 later on this year hopefully, but i believe this should hold that all. With that being said B&H says it has a load limit of

17.6 lb, my other question is i did some digging and found that the head is rated for that, i take it that is usually the weakest part of the setup? if thats the case i [FONT=Arial, sans-serif]believe[/FONT] i should be good to go. just looking to see what you guys.gals think before i drop the cash.

The weakest part of a tripod / head combination is wherever you put it. Get a good combination and make sure it's rated for more than whatever you plan to put on it. Wind pushing against a tripod will increase the load against at least one leg, and a big lens can make wind load try to twist the head harder. Most good tripod manufacturers are pretty conservative with their numbers but some lower-quality manufacturers may not be.

didn't look on Adorama for some reason haha im guessing flashpoint is an adorama brand? one of the reasons i came decided on the 3LT was (besides it being shiny) was the twist locks, how small it folds up, it has a case included, and it converts into a monopod(to replace my little 10 one) i do like the price point on the flashpoint, ill do some digging on them and see what i come up with. Do you have any experience with them? (this is why i post here, someone always finds something you completely miss)

I don't have any personal experience with this tripod but I wonder what 5-segment legs and a 3-segment center column does for stability if you ever needed to fully extend this. I'm also a big fan of having a level on the legs (may not matter much depending on your needs) and can't tell if this one has that. Then again, most true travel tripods don't seem to have that...
