430ex speedlite

I can pick up a couple of these for a decent price, my question is there any big complaints about them and can I use them in a master/slave set up, 1 on camera the other triggering to light the background? Thanks for the input. Jeremy

No complaints on mine, however, I wish I have the bigger 580EX II. You can't use the 430EX as a master, you can only use it as a slave.

I'm with Leo, I have one and it's great...but I'd rather have the 580.

And yes, the 430EX is a slave only. You would still need a master, which could be a 550EX, 580EX or the ST-E2.

I have a 430ex and a 580ex...I really like the 430! It works great as a slave so far and is good for my wife to be able to use on the other camera. I still reach for the 580 first though
