50 mm prime's

Is the Canon 55mm 1.2L worth three times the money as the 55mm 1.4 (non-L)? I am assuming not, but I haven't used either one, which is why I am asking. Thanks for the input!

To a pro it would be. To a serious amateur, maybe not. It's optically better, and out of focus backgrounds are rendered with better bokeh. AF is faster and more reliable as well. That certainly doesn't make the 1.4 any less of a lens. A lot of people here use it and get outstanding results with it. If you can justify the additional expense and can use it to it's fullest potential, it's worth the $1200 (or whatever it is now) price tag. If not, the 1.4 is an excellent performer in it's own right.

its nice to own and show off to others. but like the above, i would opt for the 1.4

You may take a look of samples and see if the f1.4 lens will satisfy your expectation.
