8 Megapixel Cameras

Steves' Digicams has comparison pictures of the same scenes taken at the same time by the three new 8 megapixel cameras. The Sony 828, the Nikon 8700 and the Canon Pro 1.

Just going by the pictures I'd have to pick the Canon as best.

Oh my goodness, you don't know how much I want the Canon Pro1. Like . . . I am about to sell my organs. Ha ha, geesh I'm so lame.

The lens is awesome on that Canon, but i dont see the need for 8 megapixels, it may create extra noise on higher ISO and longer exposed photos

Definately. The lens is really what makes that Canon stand out in the samples. Those 2 extra megapixels don't make much of a difference.
