Would love some feedback on this shot. I was working indoors with fill flash (speedlight with diffuser) but was still getting some harsh shadows. I brought up the exposure more than I normally would and took down the saturation to try to save a few of the ones I took. I did tweak the eyes a bit to bring back their blue once I took the saturation down.

One i would have prefered it in portrait orientation do you could see more of your subject. Looks too much like a floating head. Colors look washed out but that could be my phone. Part of shadow issue is your subject is too close to the background. You need to move them out a bit. Speaking of the back ground be mindful of what is behind your subject when shooting. The curtain is messy and distracting making it more a snap shot than a nice portrait.

You could try bouncing your flash as well.

Thanks for the feedback. I did try bouncing the flash on a few shots, still got some funky shadows or wasn't getting enough flash. And he had enough of me playing around with the camera. So, we'll try again another day.
