A close call and a missed opportunity.

So I was cleaning up some trash in the yard by the garage today and picked up an old piece of metal, underneath was a beautiful female Black Widow! My first thought was 'Oh, how beutiful you are!' This surprised my because I would have thought my first response to coming upon a Black Widow would be 'Eeeeeeekkk!' I wanted to get her to the garage and into a glass jar so I could set up a little photo shoot but she wasn't having it. After a few steps she began heading for my hand. Even though I had gloves on I didn't want to risk it so I dropped here and stepped on her. I'm not one to kill something without reason, my 5yo niece plays not far from where this happened so I felt she was a threat if left on the loose but I still regretted the need to kill her and not getting the opportunity to photograph her. I also searched the area for others to be safe.
