A couple for C&C...flowers

These are pics of my mothers flowers on the back deck. They were taken on AP mode, at ~6:30 tonight.

1. "Macro" shot

I think this one could have focused on the taller stem as well and had more character to it, but I do enjoy it how it is.

2.

I realize now that the sky is blown out, is there anything I can do to bring it back in some? I hate that I didn't push get an angle that allowed the atrium post to be out from behind the plant, but the background that I could use wouldn't allow it.

#1: Like it. It's a refreshing composition for such a common subject (Flowers).

#2: so so. Just being honest.

1st one is good, 2nd one just looks like a snap shot. the wooden beam coming out of the middle of the flowers detracts from the subject. and overall the comp just isnt that interesting.
