Thank you for your comments. I am assuming they apply to both pics.

While I understand what your saying about exposure and the focus, could you elaborate on the part about composition.
I am still learning so anything helps.

Shot 1 is just a bee dead center of the picture. Would have liked to see that wood or w/e he is on in focus atleast. Nothing special about it. If you where going for Macro photography it would be different. Nothing special about these shots. nothing pops.

Just my opinions, im still learning so much too.

I'm developing an interest in macro insect photography myself, so I took a longer look then usual at your pictures. Picture #1 would benefit from a much closer crop. less background and less foreground, maybe the bottom of the picture should be where the water droplets start. As for Picture #2 the Bee isn't in focus, so their isn't much you can do to improve it.
