Ohhhhh, selective color + tats!!! Brought out ye old popcorn emoticon from Ysarex!! Ummm, what was the question? I guess the first shot is the stronger edit. Although I do understand the desire to use selective color in this particular instance. In this instance, I do not find the use or execution of the selective color as appallingly tacky nor as egregious as I normally do.

Personally I think the face is an important part of the main subject, so should be in color. Try leaving the face color but going b&w on the background.
