My 50mm f/1.8 bit the dust last week, and I just picked up the 40mm f/2.8 today for a change of pace - and because I can't afford the 50/1.4 at the moment. :lmao: I took a couple quick shots of my girlfriend while I was messing around with it. So far I love the 40mm length on the crop sensor, and can't wait to get out and wandering around with it. I definitely miss the aperture of the 50mm, but the pancake is a sweet little lens, and it'll definitely do the trick until I can afford the 50/1.4 to go with it.

Yeah, that is a nice angle of view, 40 on APS-C. Not too wide, not too overly long either.

It's definitely unusual, but I'm not sure why people call it awkward (I've read that a bunch online). If there's already a 35mm and 50mm, this is more useful in its own right. :thumbup:

Nice composition, altho that OOF flower is a bit intrusive.
The yellow glow on the left is a little extreme, I think.
