Clean looking shots. Well done. What do they make or process here?

It's actually a coal fired Power Plant. These particular photos were from a phased out section originally built in the 50's. Hopefully I will get a chance to photograph more of the older equipment in this area.

The first photo is a row of coal silos, they are gravity fed into a pulverizer which is located a floor lower.

The second photo is a collar are on a condensate cooling water line out letting from the steam condenser.

Looks an interesting place. I like your photos, especially the second one

Wicked shots! Did you add the yellowish color in post?

No I didn't add any yellowing color. Since the plant is very old there is alot of old lighting to I tried to photograph areas without upgraded lighting. The lighting in most areas is very very yellow/orange. I actually desaturated the second picture a touch.

my work would kill me if i took my camera and tripod in there. too much technical stuff

My supervisor said he didn't care. They run guided tours where your allowed to photograph all the time.

Sometime down the road when the dismantle this section I have a feeling someone will be after me for the photos.

Looks like high pressure sodium lighting.

The man knows his lighting!

There is alot of that style of lighting in areas, once a light goes dead its replaced with a modern florescent installation. Which makes some of the modified areas not as interesting to photograph. Luckily enough exist that there are still neat areas available. Because this wing is slated for decommissioning a lot of the older instrumentation and equipment is starting to disappear.

Thanks and I am actually in Canada.

Our plant is currently retrofitting our units for "clean coal" production. Once the project is completed we should be the first zero emission coal fired plant in the world. The regulations are very strict here also which is why some of the less efficient older units are being decommissioned.
