It helps to under-exspose the photo when shooting sunsets or sunrises to bring out the rich sun tones, by underexposing i mean to expose for the highlights only.

Agreed, the second and the last could be real winners if the exposure was just set to the sky. I find the first one a little... um... bland? IMHO.

yeah i see what you mean. the first one is more a picture of the water than the sky.
