Well, this I went around today with my macro lens, and this was the only critter I found. He was crawling across the sidewalk, oddly enough. Who ever sees grubs in the open? My guess is he got lucky and was dropped by a bird.

I like it, nice and sharp and nice job with the focus, that DOF is narrow! Would be nice to see a different angle but not sure how much you could capture with the narrow DOF.
 
It seems narrow, but if it were a fly and not a 3" long grub, the whole critter would be in focus. The aperture was at F/13. Can't go too much higher before diffraction starts setting in. Actually, I think this is pretty much the limit. Plus, this is exactly the look I wanted to get from it anyhow. :thumbsup::wink:

this is a really cool photo! i like the B&W too it fits really well with this photo. good job
