Please let me know, how do you think :D

Interesting, but the out-of-focus stuff in the foreground is distracting and the contrast is a little high. Cropping would eliminate most of the former, and the latter is easily adjusted, or instead of decreasing contrast, do you think this might work as a black and white? I see it's a very colorful subject, but the colors may not what's most important here. Just some thoughts ...

Thank you Julie :D

Thank you KenC; actually while i chose this image for posting, the first thing i did was to convert it to B&W. Once i did that, i felt that i should not separate childhood from colors, even if the story is painful. If we see the colourful dresses of an ill fated kid, our sorrows are just multiplied; that is why i changed my mind later. Yet B&W also has impact; you please decide which works better for you

When i saw this thing on the river banks, i did not go to arrange it, but cliked it as such. So there were some overlapping grass, which i had to blur out. If trimmed, the chappal(foot wear) would move to a corner, i am afraid; I agree with you that contrast is a bit high :grumpy: Thanks again for your thoughtful comments. It inspires :D

I love the black and white version. Its so imperfect which makes it perfect. I find myself wondering whose shoe it is and why it is there :)
Good job again!

Thank you

While i was wandering on the river banks, i saw this single chappal, seen as such in the photograph. The story was my imagination-it may or may not have elements of truth in it. But symbolically it is true.

I find the one with color more expressive, though the B&W also imparts its own statement. I agree that you should not separate childhood from colors, regardless how painful or cheerful the memory can be. It doesn't matter either if there are overlapping grasses because I think it is sometimes better that you capture the most unusual subjects since they provoke your thought. After seeing this photo, I wonder what the child has gone through and why that little chappal was left behind?

Thank you JB. What did you feel was in the same direction as i had in my mind while posting this one. The story behind the chappal remains an enigma; there can be story behind it or none
