I would have to say that #3 is my favorite of the bunch, but I think it could use some cropping. I like the colors and how the bird feeder marches with the bird.


#1 and #2 you have branches that are in the foreground that are really distracting and quite frankly seem like snapshots more than anything.
The birds are in the center, as they are on almost all of your pictures. I would recommend reading and learning about composition and the rule of thirds.
What were you trying to portray or attain with these images?

Thanks for the replies, 3 is my fav of the day I think, I know the rule of thirds but as im sure you know they can be hard to catch, I could I suppose use an off centre focus point to make them more interesting but my main aim was getting them clear and sharp enough for identification. The one with the heron was difficult to get sharp due to the distance and the fact that it was behind a tree so im quite happy with the result as there was no other vantage point. Im also happy with the colours considering it was a vary dull day. All were shot at iso1600.

Very enjoyable day and one which will no doubt cost me money as I now want some decent binoculars!
